Mohammed Bin Zayed City, usually called MBZ City, is a large residential district on the Abu Dhabi mainland next to Mussafah. It is made up mostly of independent family villas laid out in numbered zones, with apartment buildings in some areas and everyday shopping at Mazyad Mall.

MBZ City villas are generous family homes, and the work we are asked for here reflects that: big kitchens with plenty of storage, a separate kitchen for daily cooking, majlis rooms that can host guests, and wardrobes for many bedrooms. Homes in MBZ City

Most villas here are designed around family life and hospitality. A typical layout has a men's majlis near the entrance, often a separate family or women's majlis, a family living room, a main kitchen and a second kitchen, with four or more bedrooms upstairs.

Large rooms and high ceilings suit floor-to-ceiling joinery: full-height wardrobes, tall kitchen units, wall panelling and display cabinets in the majlis. Many villas also have storage rooms and staff quarters that benefit from simple, durable built-in shelving and wardrobes.

The apartment buildings are mostly family units with closed kitchens, where the priority is making a compact kitchen hold more and adding wardrobes that reach the ceiling.

Finishing a newly built villa

When a villa has just been built, the interior joinery is often the last big decision. We measure every room once plastering and flooring are done, design all the joinery together in 3D, and install it in one programme so the family can move in sooner.

For large villas we plan the kitchens around how the family really cooks: a show kitchen with an island and integrated appliances, and a working kitchen with heavy-duty cabinets, tall storage and room for large pots and appliances.

Renovating an existing villa

In older MBZ City villas, replacing the main kitchen and refreshing the majlis usually makes the biggest difference. New wardrobes and bathroom vanities can follow room by room, so the villa stays in use during the work.

Because everything is manufactured off site, installation is quick and tidy. If your renovation also changes walls, plumbing or the outside of the villa, approval from the municipality may be needed first, and we can provide drawings of the joinery to support your application.

Yes. We add simple, durable wardrobes and shelving to storage rooms, staff rooms and laundries, in the same programme as the main rooms, so the whole villa is finished at once.

Our Abu Dhabi showroom is in the BILDCO Building, Al Zahiyah (+971 2 635 1498), open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM. You can also ask us to bring finish samples to your site visit.
